Collection of wood samples that is now incomplete: only fifty-one of what were originally sixty-four samples remain (see inscriptions). All samples have an inscription in white on a black metal plate, some also bear an inscription in ink on the side; one sample has neither.
These samples were examined and tested by the Navy dockyard in Amsterdam from 1863 to 1864.1 The list and the results are lost.
