Set of three sandglasses (NG-MC-1118-1, NG-MC-1118-2, NG-MC-1118-3), one of 15 seconds, two of 30 seconds. The glasses are mounted between two wooden plates, held together by brass bolts.
Four glasses were presented to the Dutch Navy in 1862 by Mr De la Marche, hydrographic engineer of the French Navy.1 The fourth glass, a 15 second glass, is lost.
