Whitworth shot for a 6-pounder gun.
It is made of solid iron and has an oblong, almost oval form with a flat base and a round tip, six oblique oval indentations have been made in the sides. These are twisted to give the bullet its rotation in a barrel with a hexagonally rifled bore.
