Model van het achterdek van een raderstoomschip met bomkanon van 60 pond op draaislede. De loop is 15 cm lang en heeft een kaliber van 4 mm; door de druif gaat een eleveerschroef. De onderslede bestaat uit een houten frame van twee zware leggers met twee lichte ertussen, op drie dwarsbalken ieder met twee kogels onderin aan de uiteinden, die over de draaicirkels lopen; aan de voor- en achterkant loopt de slede op om het bovenaffuit te stoppen. Het bovenaffuit bestaat uit twee wangen met vier trappen, het bovendeel met tappan van massief messing; het dwarsverband bestaat uit een schuin kalf, twee aslijven en een dwarsbalk waarop de zoolplaat rust. De aslijven hebben geen wielen. Voor tegen de wangen zijn twee kleine wieltjes aangebracht, die over de rails van de buitenste leggers lopen, maar slechts als de wieltjes midden tegen het achter-aslijf opgekrikt zijn en lopen over de rails van het middelste paar leggers. Beugels om het achter-aslijf borgen het bovenaffuit op de slede. Het model laat specifiek twee ontwerpen voor het verwijderbare achterstuk van de reling zien, bestaand uit stukken potdeksel, steunders en poortsegmenten; het bakboordgedeelte staat verticaal en maakt gebruik van valpoorten tussen de steunders, terwijl het stuurboordgedeelte de lijn van de scheepshuid volgt en waarbij de poortsegmenten geheel afgenomen moeten worden. Explanatory note
Het model stelt twee ontwerpen voor van de hekverschansing voor de geschutsopstelling op het achterdek van de Phoenix (Rotterdam 1834-1836, lang 39 m, 7 stukken). Geen van beide ontwerpen werd aangenomen; hiervoor in de plaats werd het ontwerp gekozen dat wordt getoond door NG-MC-804.
