Poster dat heet wonen (that is called living), Pieter Boersma, 1970
The exhibition dat heet wonen (that is called living) held in the De Tor gallery in Amsterdam was a condemnation of the policy of the Amsterdam municipality. The opening ceremony consisted of squatting a little shop slated for demolition on Amsterdam’s Czaar Peterstraat. From then on the building served as a critical, socially engaged gallery. The lifeless concrete construction of the new Bijlmermeer housing estate is derided in the exhibition poster.
