Sword with equestrian motifs, anonymous, 1655 - 1665

iron (metal), l 106.6cm More details

The many equestrian motifs on this sword suggest that it was once owned by a cavalry officer. Unusually, the scene of a large cavalry engagement extends over both parts of the shell guard. Mounted figures are also incorporated in the deco- ration of the knuckle guard and pommel.
