Portret van een jong bruidspaar, in het onderschrift aangeduid als 'Karboegers' (Carboegers), staande voor een doek met geschilderd fantasiedecor. 'Karboegers' was een koloniale term voor personen van gemengde afkomst, in dit geval ¼ wit en ¾ zwart. Opname in de tuin van de fotograaf te Paramaribo. Onderdeel van het fotoalbum van de familie Doijer, Souvenir de Voyage (deel 3), in en rond de plantage Ma Retraite in Suriname in de jaren 1906-1913.
