Art historian and jewellery collector Marjan Unger commissioned this necklace incorporating pieces of her mother’s jewellery. Jewels that would otherwise never be worn again form a new entity in the pendant. Through this kind recycling emotions and memories continue to play an important role. By actively re-using existing components instead of new materials the ‘old’ jewels retain their identity.
