Description

De staande leeuw heeft de kop naar links en naar achteren gewend en de staart onder zijn rechter achterpoot om het achterwerk geslagen. Op zijn rug is Samson gezeten, die zijn linker been naar voren heeft gestrekt en zijn rechter voet achterwaarts heeft opgetrokken. Met zijn beide handen trekt hij de bek van de leeuw open. Hij draagt een tot over de knieën vallende tunica met lange mouwen, die de tot de polsen reikende onderrnouwen vrij laten, zigzag gestreepte kousen en puntschoenen. Uit zijn nek komt de zeshoekige geprofileerde stam voort, met de vetvanger en de kaarsenpin. De vetvanger is aan de onderkant als een vijfbladige kelk uitgewerkt.
