Description

Bord van porselein, beschilderd in onderglazuur blauw en op het glazuur groen, zwart en goud. Op het plat een harlekijn met de tekst: 'Wie op Uijtrecht of nieuw Amsterdam'; de rand met een decoratief patroon. Actie-bord. Europese voorstelling in blauw-wit met emailkleuren.

Explanatory note

De totale serie omvat zeven titels: De actiemars op de tang; 50 per cent op Dela goewonnen; Schijt Actien en windhandel; Pardie al mijn Actien kwijt; Weg gekke actionisten; De Actiemars op de tang. De laatste drie titels zijn niet in het bezit van het Rijksmuseum. De teksten refereren aan de speculaties in aandelen die plaatsvonden in Europa aan het begin van de achttiende eeuw. Een grote groep mensen verloor uiteindelijk veel geld aan deze handel. Het is onbekend welk voorbeeld de Chinese schilder heeft gehad. Een prent met de harlekijn en een tekst is totnogtoe niet gevonden. Vaak wordt er gerefereerd aan de Nederlandse publicatie Het Groote Tafereel der Dwaasheid. Deze verzameling spotprenten over de handel in aandelen met zijn desastreuze gevolgen werd in 1720 uitgegeven, maar geen enkele prent kan in verband gebracht worden met de ‘actiebordjes’.
