The dish is made of ivory-white clay enrobed in a transparent glaze, exemplifying so-called Ding ware, considered to be the most refined type of white stoneware. The decoration is carved into it in the form of dragons and clouds. Made in Jingdezhen and Cizhou, the two bowls feature incised floral motifs.
