Description

Bord van porselein met gelobde rand, beschilderd op het glazuur in rood, roze, groen, paars, zwart en goud. Op het plat een man, kornak, op een olifant; op de wand vier bloemtakken met daaromheen een decoratieve band met servetwerk en 'spearhead-border'; eenzelfde band om de rand. Twee chips in de rand. Europese voorstelling in emailkleuren.

Explanatory note

Porselein met dit ontwerp werd vooral geproduceerd voor de Britse koloniale families in India. Deze productie lag met name tussen 1760 en 1790. Waarschijnlijk kwam dit porselein via Engelse handelaren in Bombay en Madras naar Europa, of met repatriërende Engelsen in een latere periode. (Christiaan J.A.
