turning, h 8.3cm × d 38cm More details

This dish is decorated with a monochrome blue glaze in which representations of flowers and tendrils have been painted in white slip. It was made in South China, where small porcelain kilns produced robust dishes and vessels that were particularly popular in Southeast Asia. In the 17th century small amounts of this ware also reached the Netherlands and Japan.
