Rembrandt & the Dutch Golden Age


The Rijksmuseum marks the 350th anniversary of Rembrandt’s death in 2019 with ‘Year of Rembrandt’. An extraordinary year full with special events celebrating the work of one of the world’s greatest artists.

Innovative and provocative, Rembrandt turned the art world upside down in the Golden Age. 350 years after his death, his beautiful works and epic life story continue to inspire and move the world.

In 2019 the Netherlands will be dominated by Rembrandt and the Dutch Golden Age. NBTC Holland Marketing, the Rijksmuseum, the Mauritshuis, Museum De Lakenhal, Museum Prinsenhof Delft, the Fries Museum, Het Scheepvaartmuseum and Museum Het Rembrandthuis collaborate with cities such as Middelburg, Leiden, Dordrecht, Haarlem, Enkhuizen, Hoorn, Delft and Amsterdam.
