Volgens het opschrift op de prent naar ontwerp van Federico Zuccaro. Volgens de British Museum (zie: V,8.199) naar Giulio Clovio, evenals de bijna identieke prent door Cornelis Cort van 1567. Mogelijk heeft Goltzius naar de prent van Cort gewerkt.
