Description

Klokvormige kop van porselein, beschilderd op het glazuur in blauw, rood, roze, groen, geel, zwart en goud. Op de wand een erotische voorstelling met een man en een liggende, halfnaakte vrouw naast een tafel met de letter A; om de scène een rijkversierd rococo cartouche; op de binnenrand een band met bloemranken. De kop is ernstig beschadigd. Europese voorstelling in emailkleuren.

Explanatory note

Porselein met erotische scènes zoals deze vormen een aparte subgroep binnen het Chine de commande. Deze kunnen variëren van zeer pornografisch tot milde erotische weergaven van klassieke mythologische liefdesverhalen. Mogelijk wijst de letter A erop dat dit porselein bestemd was voor een bepaalde persoon.
